Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any good presets for Amplitube, I have been playing with it without full satisfaction. On PMC #3 et #4, XfinsterX did some great guitars (heavy metal guitar) with amplitube. I would like to get a picture of the presets, or the preset itself. I have been trying many possibilities, and nothing sounds as good as what XfinsterX got.

(I tried sending you PM's and E-mails XfinsterX but it seems you haven't got them... so feel free to post your preset!)

I posted this on the mp3 forum because I want, later in this thread, to post some samples so people can realise that amplitube is not perfect, but neat.

Thx

Here's a sample. It's the Dimbag Dirty 2 and Deftones Preset. FL Studio drums.

Can you post fin's sound?

Horresco Referens was done using Amplitube. I'm really not satisfied with the sound at all and am also looking for really good settings to get that "true to amp" sound.

Could you post the drum samples you used (bd, toms, snare) on that track? I would love to try them. Thx

Also, could you guys post pictures of your presets or the actual presets, I would like this thread to become an "amplitube preset" sharing thread, so we can exchange, enhance, comment, etc.

I don't have any space right now to upload fin's amplitube sound, but you can e-mail me, I can put it on mp3 and upload it to you.

I'm an amplitube user. I play around with the sound every time I use it, but I think these are some of the better sounds I've gotten. I can post them if you like them. Keep in mind everything is usually doubled and EQ'd afterwards, so they don't sound exactly like that with just the amplitube.

(still need to boost some of the 1k mids on this, but the sound itself is pretty good)

Daenn, these are really nice clips, could you post all of the settings (pre EQ, post EQ, amplitube settings) you used to generate these clips? It would be great to share these settings with everyone. Your guitar recording has the same feeling as john petrucci's tone!
VEry nice job!

I'm at work at the moment, so it'll have to wait til I get home. I can put the saved presets up on my site for download.

That would be great, thx a lot for taking time at the job for posting :P

No problem. Slow week. I'm bored off my ass and have been playing SNES roms for the past few days.

Gah, sorry. Completely forgot last night. I have my laptop at work today though. I can upload the files in a bit, but I won't be able to screenshot the settings since I don't have my Mbox with me.

When i get to the studio today ill post the pics of my settings.

I dont however think that my settings are much different than anybody else that's going for a metal tone.

Maybe one thing that makes my amplitube sound a bit different is after i track the parts i run the amplitubed sound into a UA 610 tube pre.

And then i duplicate the track twice.

One of the tracks ill low pass all the way to say 200 hz and then wack it with a compressor so it pumps.

This is the "Low end" fader.

Then on the 2nd duplicate ill do a low pass to about 2.5 khz and ALSO a high pass to about 900hz.

This is the "Mid range" fader.

Ill blend those two in to the original sound to get what i want.

You can also do a 3rd track and do a high pass up to about 2khs and this would be the "High end" fader.

Once youve done all that you can take and blend them in to taste.

Keep in mind we are still talking about the same single solitary Guitar track.

So i guess my point is that, when you asked me about how i got that sound with amplitube, you have to understand that amplitube is only 1 piece of the equasion.

Take care.

Thx for the info. I'm such a tard when it comes to adding EQ's.

I'm still not sure what does what where. Is it as simple as Hi, Mid, Lo?

Or is there points to which you do these things. If that makes any sense. Like in a wave form the center is what? Lo? And the peaks are Hi? Which in Hz would be what? Laymen here? *Rises hand*.

Has any one used Amplitube as a bass guitar rig? Any good results?
