using emu-1820m for plugging my guitar into directly. immediately when windows xp loads, I can hear my les paul on a clean channell, then when I open cubase sx3 and use the amplitube plug in as an insert, I hear 2 guitars playing. One is the clean channel, and the other is the distrotion from the amplitube program. How do I cut out the clean guitar on a direct in and just use the amplitube program?

That is a monitoring type adjustment that you will probably have to change from inside your EMU control softare. I am not very familiar with that specific brand though, so i can not be of much more help:(

Having the same problem with the Audiophile 192, anyone familiar with this card?

I believe this is due to "direct monitoring" present in most new soundcards. Try switch that off and only let cubase handle monitoring. For mine, there's a checkbox in the devices menu, but also check the soundcard settings application.

is it when u record,or can u hear 2 guitars all the time?

maybe hit the little speaker button in the track view.

open patchmix a click the little M to mute it in the channel your plugged into. now its not sending it to the main mix but still going out the send.
