Hey all,
I have a very strange problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with. No matter what head I play through, the sound changes from clear to muddy and goes back and fouth. It usually just stays muddy once the tone changes, but then it goes back to being a clear sound from time to time. I'm using all new equipment. I'm running my setup from a mixer into my PC's sound card. I thought it was a problem with the mixer or the sound card, but after buying a new mixer and a new sound card, the problem still exists. My drum machine is going through the same mixer, and it's tone never changes - only the tone from the head. Then I thought it was the PC, so I played through a cabinet and the tone still changes sporadically. I bought all new wiring and cables, and I even bought a new triple rectifier thinking my Peavey XXX was the problem, but the tone still changes. Any ideas? I thought that power may be fluctuating, but I even changed outlets for the head to no avail. I'm stuck...I've spent thousands replacing every piece of gear possible and the problem still exists. If anyone can solve this problem, I'll send a nice cash reward for your time and knowledge.
