my amp went out saturday nite from what i think was overheating, for the whole story check out "stupid mistake thread"
anyway it popped the fuse which i replaced and the amp powered up, i should say here the amp is a Peavey Classic 50 212, anyway it powered up and when i switched it from standby to on it made a pop sound ,a lil burnt smell and no sound. I noticed that all the tubes are glowing except for one in the preamp section ,there are 3 tubes 2 close together and 1 by itself in the pre this is the one thats not glowing, i replaced it earlier tonite but still no sound ,any ideas on where to look next...i'll probably take it on in to the shop but thought i would ask everyone here first ....thanks in advance for any help

Is the replaced tube glowing? Or more important, was it glowing before you had the problem?

Anyway, it's probably not the tube, but a capacitor or resistor if you heard a pop and smelled smoke. If you don't feel comfortable opening it up and looking (you might be able to see the burnt part), then it needs to go to the shop.

tube not glowing

nah th tube isn't glowing but i'm thinking its something else and yeah i looked inside but saw nothing burnt looking ...thanks though
