I thought I'd seen a cheap Amp Modeling box that did both sounds for Bass and Guitar. Do the Behringer V-Amp or J-Station or one of those do both...or am I crazy? Anything under $200?
J-Station has a few bass amp models - perhaps aimed more at the AC/DC guitar-through-a-bass-amp player than a bassist, but I've used them on keyboard bass patches and they've sounded pretty good.
Behringer Bass V-Amp have a few guitarmodels, I think...
As far as I remember, it has tons of bass-amps, a few guitar-amps, and some other "all-round" kind of amps...
If you want guitar AND bass, Id go for the guitar V-amp2. You can get some pretty decent bass sounds out of it, clean and distorted or with flanger etc.
This is a better option imo cause you'll usually be better of with more guitar effects and less bass effects then the other way around.
All I know is this. DON'T GET the GNX series. I got a GNX3, and it makes some pretty nice amp sounds, but its an unreliable piece of junk. Digitech sux. IMO
7evin - you may have been unlucky. I bought a GNX 3 18 months ago - our guitarist has it now, uses it virtually every day, we've gigged with it, recorded with it, so far, touch wood, utterly reliable.
