I appreciate the links badgas and dragonworks. Very useful information there.
I'd like to find a site that deals with the professional musicians that have made it big and describe their favorite guitars, amps, drums etc... I think it would be interesting to hear what Keith Richards or Geddy Lee played on/through before the made their breaks.
Hmmm, a project maybe? Nah, too lazy.

Back when I was in Highschool, in the mid 60s, I had a book that had interviews with the English bands who invaded the US after the first assult by the Beatles.
They had a list of guitars that each one played from beginning to recording. Amps as well.
I don't remember anyone particular favorite now. Too many sleeps have gone by.
