From what I've been able to find out, the cheaper Furmans don't really amount to anything but a cheap office-supply filtered power strip with lights in a rackmount case.

You don't gain much over some free-after-rebate Belkin units from Staples, which you can daisy-chain to increase filtration.

The voltage-regulated Furmans are somewhat more substantial, but they cost a whole lot more.
 
Good suggestions. I live in a neighborhood that was built in the early 50's with power lines above ground, but that's pretty common place. No power plants or AM/FM antennas around either. I'm going out of town this weekend and I'm bringing my equipment. We'll see how it reacts. I'll also have the electric company check for unballaced circuits, dirty neutral, sources and levels of electromagnetic radiation. Thanks again and I'll keep everyone updated...
