man, this guitar is really a "player". i was so impressed.
Two thumbs up on this company.
As I took it down from the Pawn Shop hanger and played it, I immediately assumed it was around $500 used. (with the paint job, I guess someone spent some custom money on it, probably $1200 I thought...) "too expensive I thought to myself", though it played so nice and was the closest thing to replacing my previous EX-US Strat axe (due to finances in May).
Fhk it...I was looking for a $80 beater that was playable, like my old Squire I had for 15 years...but most I played in that price range were just such pieces of shit. "what can one expect at this price range?" I thought.
So all guitars are relevant to what we've played before...and I've played some really, really nice guitars; I've had so many guitars, including Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Tele's, Fender US Strats..and numerous off brands as Electra, Ibanez, etc...
With me its always the feel first, the groove,
the electronics and functionality next, cosmetics last.....But to the point,
I was ready to leave the pawn shop, and asked what the price was on the "flag" guitar and the reply was "$100".
I then had to look further into it, did I miss something? being burnt before at Pawn Shops, more playing and tuning/ de-tuning, flipping switches, and turning pots was done....frkn gorgeous, for $100?
So I dropped $100, $20 over my $80 gear addict "fix" budget, but it was a rare find..er..so I thought until the Googling started.
Turns out it's not a super price I got, as far as a "rare lucky" finds go.
These Indiana Tele/Strat mix guitars are only $150.
So my $100 was no huge savings, being used...but thats cool.
online Solid Alder, Maple, yadayadayada. Add a lot of great reviews, though not many to be found, not many Forum posts on this company either.
Anyway, TWO THUMBS UP for a Cheap Beater Guitar that is frkn amazing!
And IMO can perform with anything at any price as far as playing and sound.
What a damn nice guitar!!!.... funny too, I won't ever need to sell it for financial reasons because it isn't worth anything! doh!
hmm...probably why I had my Squire for 15yrs and my beautiful cheap Yamaha acoustic for 20yrs..while my US Les Pauls and Us Strats never stick around long?
Comparisons:
In comparison to the Fender Affinity Tele I played which wasn't far from the $1300 US tele.. this American/Indiana/China US Flag Tele.. kicks ass!
Build Wise? Longtivity?...well, I don't play live anymore...thats probably where the better built quality of materials, really shines. I never argue, physics and materials and science guys; there's a real reason some expensive stuff is expensive.
Anyway.......Leo, the Man....the Fender dewd of gear;ust phenomena...
he started all this Tele, Strat, P-Bass, Jazz Bass,... lord? and amplifiers too!! frkn amazing... beyond belief almost.
But after getting this guitar......I think this Indiana Guitar company is doing a better job of copying the Original Fender stuff than some of Fenders own sub-sub-offshore- where ever the parts come from divisions!
time to go play....
