Amazing Grace

Pete - Nice stuff. The acoustic sounds great.

I thought the harmonica was a bit muddy though. The guitar sounds so nice and clear, but the harp sounds somewhat cloudy.

Good work, as always.

Pete;

Awesome Bro! Nice singing and harmonies, fantastic playing. Love the Slidin, Bro!

The mix:

Very good stereo spread as always.
Harp could come up a bit. Not muddy at all on my SP-5B Nearfields.

Good Job Bro!

dachay2tnr -Hi,thanks very much for the listen!
Glad you liked the acoustic,I just uploaded another version, hopefully the harp sounds a little better on this one.

Nice talking to you again,it's been awhile.:)

Axe4Yahweh -Hey CR,thanks for listening!
I just started recording again, this is my first attempt.
My computer died, you know how that goes.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you thought my slidin was o.k.:D
I'll check the harp levels out, thanks.

You guys should check out
http://recordingproject.com/bbs/index.php,very cool place.

CanopuS-Thanks for the listen!
In what way did you think the harmonica sounded weird?
It was recorded it in stereo, and one of the channels was phase reversed ,wonder if thats it?

As far as recording-
Acoustic was miked in stereo
Bass was a miked cab
Electric was a miked cab, front and back
Harp was played through a guitar amp and miked in stereo
Lead vocal was done on a dynamic
Harmonies were done with a lg. dia. condenser

Everything went through an RNC,one way or another.:D
Hope that's enough info for you,if not let me know.

Then I did some mastering in Soundforge.
I just downloaded a demo version yesterday, and some Waves plugins.
Still getting the feel for it.

I uploaded another version if anyone has a minute to check it out see if it sounds any better.
I messed with the stereo spread, and added some verb to the mix.

Thanks as always,
Pete
