A few friends looking to record

But I'm being told those preamps on the projectmix aren't the best to use for drums.

I need something that will record 8 mics at once for drums, then me good enough for guitars, bass and vocals.
What's the next piece I buy? I guess a decent preamp?

If you have to be told that the preamps on the projectmix arent very good, then I dont think upgrading will solve your problems...

Get your current setup sounding as good as possible first, then consider upgrading

Just my thoughts..
Best of luck :)

If you want individual tracks for those drums, won't you need an 8-in interface like Motu 828 MKII? I kust threw that one out, there are many options for 8-in interfaces. I use and old Gadget Labs 8/24, 8-in/8out, but it doesn't have pre-amps. PreSonus makes a couple with decent pre-amps.

OOOOOOO, sorry, didn't know what a M Audio Projectmix WAS!
