Want to take the time to tell me what you think? There is an MP3 clip (unmixed-my monitor amp is fried) of one of my songs off of the album I am working on and a copy of the album cover.
Music style- Industrial
Please tell me what you think of both. Any input and ideas at all are welcome.

Oh yah!
I know the mixing job isn't that good but like I sayed-my monitoring amp is fried.
What I want to know is what you think of the content.
Yah yah......drum sounds are kinda bad.

Hey Gearless42,
I thought it was a good tune. I did think the vocals, especially at the beginning could be a little louder, more up front maybe. I liked the vocals at the end being panned far right, that was a good touch.
bobbo

Yeah, good tune, but like bobbo sez, the vocals need to come out...I'd like to hear more/and maybe a re-mixed longer version...what instruments/recorders did you use?...although I don't like MTV, this song has a lot of video potential for such a medium...lots of energy...dig it...gibs
ps the cover art is cool, but can't make out the word on top of rack and ruin?

Sounds like it was done on one of those Roland Groove boxes. I was at Guitar Satan yesterday and the sales guy was demoing one
for a customer. That raspy synth tone on the bassline was his choice as well.....
The vocals need to be more upfront, and I'm sure you can find some more unique drum sounds/ rhythms if you work at it. In this genre that's what separates the grooves from the elevator music of 2025.

This was actually just a short clip out of the middle of the song (the full song is about 5 min. long). I had a major setback in the righting prosses (computer crashed) I still have all the midi for it but I think I might have to rerecord all of the audio (not a problem, just time consuming)
The text right above "Rack & Ruin" says PFIST-(pronounced like fist) that is the name of my project(band?) can't really call it a band-I'm the only person in it.
Anyway, here is a list of the gear that I used on this song:
COMPUTER:
450Mhz Pentium III
256 MB PC 100 SDRAM
9.1GB AV rated SCSI Hard Drive
LynxOne 24 bit Sound/Recording/Midi Card

SOFTWARE:
Steinberg's Cubase VST/24 3.71
Steinberg’s Wavelab 2.0
Sound Forge 4.5
ReBirth 2.0
TC|Works Native Bundle 2.0
Sim Synth (for some sampled FX)

Rocktron Chameleon DSP (Guitar processor)
Access Virus b v3 (Virtual analog synth)
[X2] Clavia Nord Lead 2 v1.6(Virtual analog synth)
Yamaha NS-10 Monitor speakers
Peavey Bandit 112
Fender Stratocaster
Shure Beta58
Behringer Eurorack MX2004A

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I just listened, it sounded really cool. Except, to me it sounded like the high end was missing, you need some crsip in there. Just an opinion.

Gearless42,
I liked that song!!
Vocals were a little low, liked the talking part....nice GROOVE!!

Garger

Made me think of X-Files for some reason. you should send them this, they could even write a show around it. Not understand vocals need help. kept seeing Dragon's Jacobs ladder in my head. I liked it but I like to understand vocals. thats just a personal thang.

Layth

Awesome... I can't wait to hear the whole song. Dido on the vocals.
