I've been using my Allen & Heath ZED mixer for live performances for a couple of years. Great product, great quality & reliability. As things have been a bit quiet lately I decided to use it as a home recording mixer.
I know it is not really designed for this however using LogicPro on an iMac and recording one instrument at a time seemed like a good idea - however - one little problem I don't seem to be able to solve - so - to all of you clever folks out there here is ......
I want to use a click track in my headphones while playing instruments (for obvious reasons). The click track is recorded in LogicPro and the iMac is connected to the Allen & Heath via USB.
So far so good. I can play the click track, listen to it on headphones plugged into the mixer and also play and hear an instrument connected through one of the input channels. I can also record the instrument on a separate track in LogicPro. All sounds good HOWEVER the recorded track also contains clicks from the click track.
I have spent a lot of time on this but the best I can manage is hearing the click track on mixer connected headphones (but not the instrument played) and recording the instrument in LogicPro without picking up the click track. So the final result is OK but is there any way to hear both the click track and the instrument played at the same time in the mixer connected headphones without recording the click track? Or is there another solution (without spending a load of cash).
Many thanks
