thanks all for the encouraging feedback! you are all too cool.
flash2ace: yes it's all me. thanks for listening. it's more of me than you ever asked for!
mmm: thanks for the detailed comments. it's been a while since my first post. since then, i've basically been spending most of my home studio time swearing at my computer! frustrating stuff, but i think i finally have it all working pretty smoothly, which is to say that sonar only crashes right in the middle of a project once every other day now

. everything is me except the drummer. that's a loop. glad you liked the keyboard. i liked it to

.
wes480: thanks for the advice. i'm really just learning how to use compression. reverb scares me. i don't know how to use it well yet. i basically always use the lowest possible setting whenever i do. i suppose the liveness of the sound is because i'm recording in a basement, surrounded by cement walls.
chrisharris: you looped it 500 times? lol. i'm considering just looping the whole thing twice and then i'll have a 4 minute song! thanks for the great feedback... so you mean great as in great looking rather than great personality? thanks for the listen.
sam: apologies for the bass. i have never played a bass and it was just the first thing that rolled off my fingers onto the keyboard.
barometer: thanks for the listen. i agree with the flat comment. you know the lead vocal was a second take and i should have just left that first take alone! it was much more energetic. i always seem to wreck things when i revisit them.
gidge: drums are looped, which is really sad considering that drums are the only instrument that i actually do know how to play. thanks for the encouraging feedback.
guernica: man, coming from a real guitar player the "nice acoustic" comment makes my day. that was my second recorded
acoustic guitar performance. i've been forced into playing the instrument cause my friend who plays guitar left the state

. i'm afraid i have a long way to go on learning to use compression wisely. it's a touchy thing in my experience.
