Well, my cans came in yesterday. I'm pretty impressed. Great clarity and definition to the sound. As everyone says, great bass response. I listen to alot of modern prog-rock type stuff (Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Sigur Ros, Opeth) and when the textures in this style of music get a little chaotic and intense, I can still hear the definition of each instrument/sound. And for some reason, the stereo image feels enhanced on these cans.
They're very comfortable, but as someone mentioned, they can get a bit sweaty as you wear them for awhile, so a little bit of fatigue overall. But nothing unbearable, and a nice upgrade from the Vic Firth isolation cans I used to use (constricted my head pretty badly). Thanks again everyone for your thoughts, I'm very happy with the M50's.
