Okay, I haven't used it in a long time and got it out to do some programming. I could have sworn that, in the past I was able to do an open hi-hat sound... Like when you hit it with it closed , and then open it, and close it again.....PPSHHHP!

Is this setting available??? Just can't remember how to get it, if it is.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!! PS: I've checked the manual and it doesn't list it.

I dont know about closed, open, then closed, but I always hit it open, then about 9 or 10 subbeats later on a mid tempo song, hit the closed hat. Just 2 hits. One open then one closed.

You could always add the closed hat before the open hat if thats what you're looking for.

This help any?

Wow, sub beats?? You're obviously more adept at this thing than I am.
Are you saying you can hit an open note and then "choke" it off?
That could be cool... gotta' dig a little further into the manual.

Yup, here's how I do it:

Make sure you're in pattern mode, not song mode (top right of screen)
Hit record setup
Hit number 0 to make sure quantize is off
Hit tempo down twice
Hit play
Scroll with the tempo buttons to the beat you need the high hat (This is what takes the longest because there are so many subbeats to go through)
Hit the open high hat where you want it
Scroll with the tempo button again, about 9 or 10 subbeats
Hit the closed hat

When you play it back the open hat will sound and the closed hat will cut it off.

Whoo whoo!

Thats all I have to say about that. <---- In my best Forrest Gump voice

Make sure you have the open and closed hat pads assigned to GROUP 1 not MULTI (in Drum Set). This silences the other pad when the 2nd is pressed
