Alesis SR-16 and MIDI

I working with Cubase VST 5.1 and have created MIDI drum tracks using Groove Agent VST.

Exported into WAV files and burnt onto CD - Using the tracks as backing for a duo.

There appeared to be a loss in sound quality after being transferred to CD.

I have an Alesis SR-16 - is there a way of loading the MIDI drum tracks into the Alesis and having that play them?
 
If you have a MIDI out somewhere that you can send the drum track out of that to the Alesis and then record the Alesis' audio outs as audio tracks.

If you don't have a MIDI out anywhere you could buy a cheap USB/MIDI interface for around $30 or so.

Not many people do this though because even though the SR-16 sounds pretty good it is near 20 years old and there are many other drum samples that most people would prefer.
