Alesis RA150 not working

Hi,
I was in my studio yesterday when suddenly my Alesis RA150 amplifier (powering the monitors) suddenly stopped working. There was no bang or anything like that, it just stopped. It turned out that the fuse had blown. I replaced it today but it just blew as soon as I switched it on. The power light didn't even flash on for a moment. What could be the problem?

Did the fuse blow again?
Obviously that'd be a symptom of a bigger problem, but it's worth asking.

Did you use the correct type and rating of fuse?
 
Incidentally, I have an RA100 that I'm looking rid of in the UK.
The bare-wire speaker clips are broken, but it has jack outputs so no big deal.
 
fuse blows implies short circuit.....where??? Most often power transistors. Suggest open it up and look/smell around....replace bad and restart with variac. good luck
