I have been tinkering with audio recording and have run across a situation that I wonder if anybody know how to solve. I have assigned the kick drum on the QS7 to the AUX and panned it hard left, the snare to AUX panned hard right. So far so good. My problem is the kick and snare sound still comes out of the main outs at the same time, and that is why I assigned it to the AUX in the first place so I could isolate it for recording without getting everything else. Any suggestions on taking the kick and snare out of the main outs?

Which patch are you using and are you in program or mix mode?

Most of the patches send the sounds through the effects bus so even when you set them AUX you still get some on the mains through the FX. If you are using a built in program or mix maybe I can try to duplicate your issue and give you a more specific answer

I am using a program, but it had been modified by the previous owner to remap the drum assignments, then I've modified it further by putting the kick on AUX Left and the snare on AUX Right. So there is a way to remove these from the FX section as well? I haven't found the FX section yet. The menus are quite intensive.

If your drum program is based off an existing kit program such as "Real Rock" there are four sounds that make up the patch (just like other instrument patches). Each sound has 10 drums assignable to a keyboard key. All of the kits use one or more of the sounds (usually #3 and/or #4) to assign attack envelopes and other sounds like bass. Usually sounds 1-3 are groups of 10 drums each. Any or all of these sounds can be a kick but since you have already altered the pan and bus you must know where the kick is located.

The drum editing can be a pain and you may have to go through these steps a few times to get the idea but try the following:

1) load the drum program
2) Select Edit Mode
3) press button 40 (Voice)
4) for each sound group that has a group of drums(e.g. 0-3, )
5) select the kick (use buttons 0-10)
6) press button 50 (level) (this should be where you set the AUX and pan)
7) press page > until you see "FX Level xx" (xx is the FX output level from 0 -100)
8) set level to zero using the Value v (down) button
9) test the patch
10) if it works SAVE IT or you will have to do this again
