Wrote to several forums, no one can answer, hopefully someone here can. I have an iMac using Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I am trying to hook up to the Alesis Mutltimix 8 via firewire. I DL'd the latest driver for imac directly from Alesis. The iMac does not see the Alesis unit. The imac is using 9 pin firewire and the mixer is using 6 pin. I have bought and tried two different cables. I tried unplugging, rebooting, on/off etc etc. The driver software states "No Devices Found" all the time. I tried removing and reinstalling the software several times. The Alesis unit works with the old laptop (window xp), I want to use my Mac with Logic Express. Logic express sees nothing about the mixer. When I click "about this mac" and then firewire, it sees the bus reading max 800 bps. but does not see the unit. There must be someone out there that can solve this for me. I wrote to Alesis weeks ago and again but no responses from them. The iMac uses firewire with 800 bps and the mixer at 400 bps. I am using the cable with corresponding plugs, everything fits but nothing works. HELP!! please thanks,

Is the firmware in the unit the latest verson as well? Sometimes new drivers only work with the latest firmware.

Everytime I try to upgrade the firmware, I get a box saying "Alesis firmware quit unexpectedly"
When I plug the Alesis into the laptop (windows xp) the firmware is updated.
Plugged back into the Mac, and get "No Devices found"
Tried to upgrade firmware to mac again and get "Alesis firmware quit unexpectedly"
