to any of you who own this unit: does the fireport interface stand up to the hype? as in, does it work flawlessly, under all conditions? i was burned by alesis' adat connect bullshit, and though i like the idea of the hd24, i need a unit that will interface flawlessly with my DAW.

thanks

Own an HD24 and I can tell you that it works better then any about computer system in regards to stability. The Fireport works like a dream as well. If you are planing on doing any live recording then HD24 is about the only way to do.

well - i used ours for the first time last week to fix an error the hd24 thought was necessary to put in some tracks...

it worked flawlessly in that case...we never used it before and it took us only about 10 minutes to get it up and running and transfer the stuff to the computer. fast.

i was pretty amazed at the door that thing opens up in our world. it's worth the kinda nutty $ they are asking...

that said i'm sure there would be bugs with some stuff...no offense to alesis...but...well...you know...it's an alesis thing.

great machine tho. check out the hd24 yahoo group too...great, great, great group of people there. super nice.

peace,
Mike
