Response from Alesis Technician
I have no idea why this info is not in the manual. We found it buried in someones old e-mail. I should get you access to sounds on the card. You’ll still have to deal with sequencing on the computer ad using soundbridge and freeloader (available from our website)
Press Drum on the front panel and play your keys until
you find a drum sound you'd like to edit and place your
new samples into. (Make sure the Chase button is
selected/illuminated.) The cursor will be on the note #
of the selected sound. The information in the display
above this, for example, Ekk:000 08 Bump1, indicates
that the sound is #000 "08 Bump1" in the Electronic Kick
Bank. You should select a sound in the User Bank that you
won't mind overwriting. Press the Edit button. The cursor
will be upon
Voice 1 (out of four possible Voice Layers
per Drum). If the text is lower case, then the Voice Layer is
disabled. Turn the Value wheel until you see a SND that's
enabled. Cursor right and select Group. Turn the Value
wheel until you see the Group name you specified
when sending the samples to the DMPro from the computer.
Cursor to Group again and turn the Value wheel to the
right. The cursor will be on SND: Now cursor right
and select the sample you want to place. You can
go back three pages and add or disable up to three
other Layers this way. Cursor up to VOICE to access
the LEVEL, PITCH, FILTER, AMPLITUDE, PITCH ENV,
FILT ENV, AMP ENV, MOD 1, MOD 2, and DRUM NAME
pages. By cursoring to SND:, you can edit the same
parameters on each Layer quite easily.
