Alesis DM5 Pro Elec Drum Kit and Groove Agent One Latency (Cubase 5)

Hi guys im trying to record midi drums from the Alesis DM5 kit into Cubase 5's Groove Agent One Vst sampler. It works fine but theres like a milllisecond/half a second delay/latency i know this cause ive played with a metronome at slow speed and it still sounds out of time. I know its not cubase 5 or my soundcard (aa Focusrite Saffire Pro 10) because when i play Groove agent through my keyboard its fine and in time so it must be some parameter that needs changing on the kit.

Any help?

im a total newbie when it comes to midi but:
i have to adjust the time centering on all my midi tracks.
its the third things down on the main Midi track menu.
