Hi guyzzz...
I got myself a Dm5. Im trying to hook up my acoustic triggers. Im just focusing on my Low Tom. I got my trigger mounted. Hooked up with roland PCS dual trigger cable to the back of my alesis. Ive gone thru in the manuel what it says to do to hook up the triggers but I still get no sound. I can get the sound to trigger thru tapping the "Preview" But thats it. Ive adjsuted the volume for the trigger I am working on up and down but still nothin. Any one think they can help me???

Provided you have the trigger mounted right, you may want to adjust the sensitivity setting on the D5 for that specific input.

Check which output you have your sound routed to. IIRC, you should also see the 'Note Chase' button flash when signal is received from an input. If you get no flash, something else is wrong, like the sensitivity or perhaps the gain.

Here goes

It could be anumber of different things. Check to see if you have the sensativity up, check to see that you don't have the crosstalk, and noise blocking function all the way up. If you do it will take a sledge hammer to trigger it. Check to see if you unplug the cable from the trigger that it triggers when you touch and let go of the cable tip. This will eliminate the idea that your cables are bad. Also make sure that you don't have the trigger tightened down to the point that the transducer( trigger sensor) can't feel the vibration when the drum is struck. Also you need to run the drums through the proper outputs. With the dm5 you have auxillary outs, and mains. I personally run kicks out mainL, snare on MainR and toms panned in sterio out the auxillary outs. You can see your routing through the mix button on the unit. And adjust the mix levels. Chances are it is something minor that i have listed, if you preview button is still functional. Hope this helps.

Hey Analyticalman...you gave me alot of different ideas. Im gonna check them out tonite and Ill get back to you guys in the morning about it. Thanks for the intelligent response...
