After searching for a suitable way to manage my drum sounds from my rolandmv8800 and softsynth via an organic stick-on-canvas approach, i was stoked to say the least. however ive got a few ?s as to how i could make this all work for my individual setup.
ok so i'll be wanting to control both sounds from the 8800 AND the softsynth, how to i bounce back and forth so that everything i'm playing on the controlpad is still being recognized and recored in real-time on the 8800?? the roland is the centerpiece of the setup (meaning every sound i play, the roland is recording it) so whether i'm controlling a softsynth sound or a sound from the roland, i need it being recordable into the roland's mainframe.
also, how does one go about choosing which sound is going to be on pad 1, which sound makes its way to pad 2, etc. like say i want the sound from the 8th key on my keyboard to be on pad 1, the 33rd key on pad 2, and so on.
this sounds like an awesome purchase for my setup, just want to make sure its capable of all the midi requirements i'll be asking of it. the fact that theres a midi in and a midi out sounds promising, but i figured id throw it by you guys that actually know what this sucker is capable of
