I've gotten a few reports of buzzing in some of the ribbon mics. We should discuss them here, so we might learn from others who might have some answers

I'm not selling mine...they're keepers. Asside from a loose transformer mounting screw in one of them, no problems here. I would have liked to see a little Lock-Tite on the internal screw threads. But hey...I got them at 1/3 the "fair market value"

Can't wait for the next buy.

There were a few people interested in starting another group buy. I don't have the time now. If someone wants to start it, go for it and start it. The next buy, I will be getting at least 4 of the HRM-15's. Our cost 62.50 brand name 379.00

I had buzzing from an improperly sized ribbon (too long) on my HRM-10. It was a delicate, but fairly straight-forward repair.

Hi,
I'd be interested in a second buy.
What are people thinking about the newer models?

I've had no problems with mine, though I've had only one chance to use them so far. They sounded great, but I definitely need to get some more experience with them.

I'd definitely participate in another group buy if one gets started. However, like Chance, I don't have time to run it.

I'd be interested if anyone here gets another group buy going.

I have buzzing in both of my HRM-10's, making them impossible to use. I tried the mod that scrubs did to one of them but it did not get rid of the buzz. I don't know what else I can do to fix this issue, as I don't want to destroy the thin ribbon.

The two HRM-14's I have sound great and have no problems!

No Problems here.

I have two of the HRM-10. Use them almost every day. No problems and they sound Great! Definitely interested in another group buy.

We have a group buy going on over at:

http://analogindustries.com/

This is for the Alcatron CR-14 double ribbon model. Looks cool. Cheap enough to take a flyer on it.

I was just at that site and the HRM-14 is $125.00 plus shipping. Has anyone calculated the cost after shipping, duty, etc? I believe that mic was $62.50 (before shipping, duty etc.) I still would pay the $125.00 for it.

I believe that the shipping that will need to be paid in addition to the $125 is the shipping to Buyers from Portland. I think Chris has rolled all the rest of the costs into the $125. The current estimate for shipping in the US is $11.25. So, current estimated total cost is $136.25 to your doorstep if you are in the US.

Could anyone with the buzzing problem describe or post a clip with the buzz?

Chance,...didn't we get them cheaper than that when we worked through you?

I looked back through the prior postings and it appears that the cost on the first Buy was @ $100 for the HRM-14 with shipping (I assume that is shipping to the Buyer's door). So yes, it appears it was cheaper. The cost on the current Buy also includes the 8.9% fee from Fundable which is a service that coordinates the commitments and payments (which is a good thing based on the stream of postings that last Buy generated -- jeez Chance, I got to hand it to you - no way I would have ever put up with that -- a Chinese fire drill by any other name). It also looks like the deal is about to close momentarily. 80 mics committed to and paid for in about 3 days :D

I have never really calculated it on a per mic situation.
The HRM-14, was $62.50. The total oversea shipping for our 70 mics (300 pounds) was $108.00, and the duty, bond, and a few other charges, came out to I think $10.00. If we do this again, I will definately get some more HRM-15's too. They sound good on anything I've thrown at them so far.

i might be interested in a group buy. need to re supply my mic collection.

anyone have a quick link to a thread with some more information on these mics?
