AKG vs SHURE

I'm not sure why this year old thread popped up to the top of the list when the date on the last post is over a year old. Says 4 hours ago by dgatwood 14 months after the fact.

Anyway. With so little info to go on, I'd have to say Shure. Two reasons really. a) In this economy, Shure is Made in the USA. and b) The AKG website doesn't load very well in linux (or over dialup), rendering it almost useless as a sales pitch or informational reference to the casual shopper. I know nothing to do with the actual products, but.....

First of all, they're Austrians, not Germans, and secondly, it would still come down to a fight between the Mexicans and the Chinese. Both have corrupt governments, but the Chinese have nukes. I'm betting on them, in the end.-Richie

No problem- If you want the Austrians, blow up the entire Northern hemisphere. If you want the Australians, it's the entire Southern hemisphere. Of course, if you're not sure, you can do them both. If you want to make egg foo young, you have to break a few eggs. Personally, I prefer Shure mics made in the USA and AKG mics made in Austria. It's one of the reasons I prefer C2000B to the Perception mics. The Austrians don't have a single missile pointed at me, and they aren't sending truckloads of illegal immigrants to LA, either.-Richie

I have developed the means to use a banana as a microphone. Also a cucumber. I mean, to use a cucumber as a microphone, not as a banana. But I'm working on that. My research was a direct off-shoot of figuring out how to use a banana as a telephone. So far, I have been completely unsuccessful in making a cucumber work as a telephone.

Research continues.
