Hi,

I have read the AKG website, they have announced a new dynamic instrument mic. Their manual shows that the frequency response is rather flat (in the class of dynamic mic) from 100Hz to 13kHz, the noise level are 18dB, similar to D3800, C900, C451B. The polar pattern are tighter than D770.
I currently use D770 for miking guitar amp (AER) and want to buy one more as a pair due to D770 is being discontinued.
Is it good idea to wait for D4?

Have a look on their info:

Who knows? You'll just have to try one out.

if you want to use them as a stereo pair i would get the d770 so they mics will sound the same, plus you might be able to find it on sale since it discontinued. if you just want to mic multiple guitar cabs at once then i would wait and try out the new mic and if you still like the d770 better then find a used one on ebay or maybe some stores will still have some in stock
