i just bought one too off ebay. i would like some info regarding what they sound good on. since i have guitar mics i was thinking it would make a good bass or low tom mic.

I guess that would make them good. ;)

Well, there are differences between dynamic and condenser mics, so I didnt know how great they were compared to condensers.

Yo guitarguy. How do they compare to condensers? How does a hacksaw compare to a screwdriver? You have some very nice dynamic mics there. They have low frequency and high frequency dual circuit systems, with amazingly flat response from 30hz to 17K hz. They were, in their day, top of the line AKG dynamic studio mics. If there is a dynamic that's good on acoustic guitar, piano, strings, or for a spaced stereo pair, they are it. They are one of the dynamics that is close to a Sennheiser MD441. In short, they rock.
I would think their best use would be softer snares, like a jazz kit, softer guitar cabs, brass/sax in particular, and as a live stage vocal mic. SPL's can be an issue, though, they handle up to 129db, which is good, but maybe not for wicked loud stuff. Not a death metal mic, but a jazz drummer's wet dream. Have fun-Richie
