what do you guys think of the AKG D11 as a budget kick mic? any good?

I've used it before, and sold it after a few weeks. For the same price I got a Shure PG52. Works way better than the AKG.

depends on how you like to play and tune your kick and whattype of music you are planning to do. I have quite a few k drum mics and would usualy opt for the beta52 for a muted already punchy drum sound. If you play with no hole and wide open maybe a d112 would work for you

well i like a nice round bass drum sound, but punchy. The drum im working with is a cheapo, which an evans EMAD and a normal front head with a hole. Ill mostly be recording a ska band me and some friends are starting to mess around with, but i'd like to be versatile in case anyone wants to do something different.
