Akg D 660 S

i jsut bought a AKG emotion mic set for my drums, and they gave me 2 D660 S's and the box says they are for snare recroding but why give me 2 mics for the snare? i was wondering if they could be used as Overhead mics. Cheers

Often, snare is recorded with one mic on top and another, phase reversed, underneath. Yes, you could use them for overheads, but I don't think they'll shine in that role.-Richie

surely it would be a more advanced person that would use 2 snare mics, but a bum like me
