So if the OP is only using the C1000 for a podcast, sound quality isn't probably an issue. Neither is the fact that it's an overpriced mic since she already owns it (well being overpriced isn't really a "fact", just my opinion having used one for an hour or so).
To anybody thinking of buying one, I think you can get a better sounding mic for most applications. And for a lot less. Hell, just get an MSH1-0. It's a tiny mic though, so if one needs to look at a big bodied large diaphragm mic while they track just fit it into the emptied-out casing of a Chinese U87 clone or, well... a C1000. It'll sound great. Use a pop screen.
