I'm thinking of buying this mic I already own a Zoom MRS8...will I need an adaptor for it to work on my recorder? Or will it plug straight in? Please help
Yo Hornet, unless I'm mistaken, the Zoom doesn't produce phantom power, which would make a C4000B fairly useless. Yes, the C1000S will work, because it can be powered by a battery, and it should plug in and work. It's not a great mic, but it may be better than what you are using right now.-Richie
I've found that the C1000 is not a very good all-purpose mic, but it is fantastic for electric guitars. If you have some cabinets to mic, go for it. If you want to use it for everything, you might want to look some more.
you could always go out and buy a a couple channel mixer (yamaha, behringer, ect...) for pretty cheap. Thatll give you a phantom power on all the channels most likely. Then you can record several mics down to stereo and take up two tracks on the mrs8. Thats what i do on my mrs4 with my behringer ub1202 and it works good for me.
