Akg 414-eb

does anybody know how the old 414EB compare to the new 414 tlII ???

im lookin for an allrounder mic with a warm character for vocals.

i liked the 414 tl II for my own voice, so could it happen that 414eb will be even better ???

does it have any chance against neumann tlm103, soundelux u195 or brauner phantom c on rnb/pop vocals ???

The EB and TLII are very similar mics. I confess my poor ears aren't good enough to hear the difference. Against TLM103, I consider either the TLII or the EB a more versatile mic, generally better. Against U195. I consider the Soundelux a better vocal mic. Again, I find the C414 more versatile. The Phantom-C I have never used, which is too bad, but I have used a valvet, which is one of the few mics as versatile as the 414.-Richie

ive compared the ULS with the EB and prefered the EB. The EBs are actually preferred over the newer C414s by alot of engineers. But i think they are minor differences.
