I know 4000 is more expensive than 3000, but that's not a problem here. I just need some advice for me to make a decision.
Do anybody worked with them both can give me some advice?

markshia, I sold my C3000B to a local studio because it was too sensitive
at picking up background noise for home recording. I'm convinced you'd
get a better "bang for the buck" by checking out other manufacturers
like Studio Projects and Marshall. The Studio Projects C1 I use blows
away the C3000B for vocals, and the C3 and T3 (both multi-pattern)
are supposed to sound even better. There is also a B series coming out
and I left a thread for Alan Hyatt (the owner), to tell us more about
that too. The website is www.studioprojectsusa.com

P.S. The C3000B overall sounded nice except it was a little bright for my
taste.

I love the C-4000B myself...it's a very versatile microphone both onstage and in the studio and it is extremely QUIET--possibly the quietest condenser out there nowadays. I have no problem with picking up background noise whatsover with the C4000B. I also have a brand new C414B-ULS wnich kicks major butt. AKG makes some really solid great sounding microphones that are legendary and rightly so! I'd audition the C4000B asap.:D

Can you hear any great differences in the sound between those two? With the same patterns. Just curious. I have the C4000B aswell and I agree about everything you've said. Except it just doesn't flatter SOME vocalists. So I'm looking to get some different sounding mics. Thinking seriously about either the C1 or MXL V67GG. Or even the B'ringer B2? And I also need to buy 3 new SM57..... Plus a guy leaving the country is selling his Marshall JCM2000 Head+Cabinet A CHEAP......Ahhh... Where will all this money come from.... :)

Hi Warlock,

Yes, I can hear sonic differences between the C 4000B and my C414B-ULS...completely different microphones [especially with sax or vocals].However, when used on acoustic [or mic'ing electric guitar amps ] the C414 is a bit more complex. I really like both of these pieces.:)
