When I record vocal tracks, they always sound kind of airy. I was wondering what frequencies I would have to cut to remove it, or if there is anything else I can do about it. Thanks.

Try a cut at around 10K+. That should sort it out. Or use a dynamic!

You're welcome

Describe what you mean by "airy." No low end? List the mic and other equipment you are using. It'll help people here to help you.

Have the performer stand closer to the mic. Granted you may have more issues with breathing, and its associated noises. But youll get a much more intimate sound. What mic are you using?

I am using a crappy $20 Radio Shack Mic to record. The sound isn't lacking in low end, but the singer just sounds really "breathy". I was just wondering if there was any specific frequencies to cut that would reduce that.

breathy...

well it works for tori amos....
maybe breathy isn't all that bad :P
