F.S. - Thanks bro. I do record a lot. I love it. But not as much as it may seem. I always have like 5 or 6 songs in various states of completion at once and I work on them together. The stuff I do is pretty simple, so I might track the rhythm guitars for 4 different songs all in one sitting. This way they end up getting done at about the same time. I've got 3 sitting right now that just need vocals. I may be able to knock them out tomorrow. ;)

Ahhhh! Assembly line production! And I suppose you know tons of covers already.

Shit yeah. I have a long list of songs I wanna do. One day I'll finish covering every song ever made and I'll write my own. :p

awsome power vocals!!
and that bass is pretty kick butt!
i love the way you did it man!

Hey Greg,

I enjoyed my listen. I love this tune. I would like to hear a little less mids on the guitars but that is just me. Kool fun vibe happening on this one Greg and your collaborator.

Gorty :)

Guitars - intro seems a little over effected, but the remainder is great. Either he has that Eddie MXR pedal or he figured out the settings on his phaser/distortion. It's very authentic.

Bass - nice and thumpy, clean and in a good place..

Drums - live drums just make so much difference and you've got a nice recording setup on this.

Vocals - excellent - not Diamond Dave ;) but couldn't ask for a better take. Love your Hey Hey Heys....how many tracks did you use for that? The "doubling" is perfect.

Playing is spot on for everything too...

Nice collab - my compliments to you and your friend in Europe...

Edit - a collab is just that - allowing him to select his production ideas is a very collaborative thing to do - congrats on that....just wanted to add that...

:D :) :D :) :D

Wow...its like a super 70's - 80's rock explosion coming out of your studio! This rocks. I was waiting to see if you'd nail the higher part on the first "ain't talkin' bout love"...and you did...nice going. All the doubled vocal parts sound great.

Love the bass...very reminiscent of Anthony or whatever his name was/is...

Love this song, and oldie but goodie...brings back some memories...

I agree that there needs to be some balance to the right to make up for the hard panned left guitars, other than that sounds great man ;)

gorty - Thanks man. I left the guitar sound totally up to the other guy, so blame him. :p

bigwillz - Thanks bud. The hard left guitar is how Van Halen does it, so thats how I did it. However, the VH version has the guitar reverb panned right the whole way through. My buddy didn't want the mix like that, so I tamed the reverb through the meat of the song leaving the guitar mostly to the left.

Ido - Thanks man. Yeah the intro is thick, but thats kinda how it is in the original version too. It required some software trickery that I'm not used to in order to get just guitar on the left and just reverb on the right. The "hey hey hey's" are just 3 tracks. The main vocal track and 2 backing tracks panned hard left and right with reverb and chorus. As for the collab effort, I was doing the majority of everything and he's even more of a newb than I am, so I tried to let him have a lot of say in the mix and leave his guitars totally up to him. I did nothing to his guitar tracks but pan them and very slightly boosted some highs.

heatmiser - Thanks man. :)

zed - Lol. Thanks bro. :)

cincy_kid - Thanks for the listen. Please see my responses to bigwillz and ido about the guitars. :p

jpw23 - Thanks dude. :)

Timothy Lawler - Thanks man. Yeah the idea is to have it sound good through actual speakers. It does sound lopsided through headphones. :p
