This is an online collaboration I did with a friend of mine in the Netherlands. He did all the electric guitar parts and I did everything else. He's semi-new to playing and very new to recording so we just had some fun with it. I think he did pretty good. I mixed it, but let him decide on a lot of things. His guitars were tracked direct through some kind of vox modeling amp.

Anyway, here it is:

"Aint Talkin Bout Love" by Van Halen

Pretty cool. Needs guitar reverb panned right side only.
Thanks for listening. I agree about the reverb. My buddy didn't want it for whatever reason so I left it soft during the main part of the song. It's there in the intro and ending.

Sounds pretty good. Brings back memories of playing that song in my own cover band years ago!

Dang...pretty cool version Greg. Got some good tones happening.

Really like the vocals on this....guitar sounds good as well...pretty authentic Eddie vibe.Cool tune...better job than Velvet Revolver did at Van Halens R&Roll hall of fame induction :D !

Thank you metalhead, Dogman, gummblefish, and variaxman. :)
I really hate you, you talented bastard.

Ok, I really don't, but I didn't want to seem all gay outside the cave... :D

Yeah gayness is a cave only kind of thing. ;)

Nice version of this tune.

If Eddie Van Halen doesn't want Sammy or Dave in Van Halen, he should give your singer a try.

johnnymegabyte - Thanks man. I'm the singer on this one, so I'll gladly join if they want me. :p

raven46 - Thanks bro. I appreciate the listen. :)

You should try a Led Zeppelin song! You do great versions of every other song you cover, I wonder what you could do w/ a Zeppelin tune.

A thing about this one, when everything gets quiet, around the "bleed baby"s, I think, . . . I think the vocals stand out too much, maybe all the music gets too soft. Just my two cents tho.

Great singing and a very competent arrangement.

Nice job!

That would be a fun Jamfest Tune!

Very cool!

Do you record all day everyday or what? You have to churn out more songs than the rest of the regulars put together :D

Great job yet again!

60's guy - Thanks a lot man. :)

ziplock - thanks for the listen and the feedback. I thought the same thing about that vocal part while I was mixing, but Dave's vocals are pretty up front in the original, so I left it be. Also, I don't do Zep. Not a fan. Sorry. :o

Bushmaster - In due time bud. It's coming. ;)

drstawl - Thanks man. I can't make jamfest this year, but one day I will and we'll do this one. :p

F.S. - Thanks bro. I do record a lot. I love it. But not as much as it may seem. I always have like 5 or 6 songs in various states of completion at once and I work on them together. The stuff I do is pretty simple, so I might track the rhythm guitars for 4 different songs all in one sitting. This way they end up getting done at about the same time. I've got 3 sitting right now that just need vocals. I may be able to knock them out tomorrow. ;)

The mix is lop sided with that one guitar hard panned all the way to the left. Theres nothing to the right to balance it, other than that it sounds DAMNED good Greg. Are you guys performing any where? I'd like to get out and see you play live sometime.
