excuse me if this seems a bit repetitive, but i didn't get any suggestions on how to get an aggressive, biting vocal recording. to give you an idea, i have a joemeek vc1q, 4033, sm58, and a few other budget condensers. i use cubase vst and have a slew of plugins. any ideas on how to get an intense vocal sound. overcompression, distortion, running through an amp and mic'ing that.... any good ideas? thanks.

Aggressive clean; the 58 into the Meek and lay on the compressor.
Aggressive dirty; 58 to Meek, line out to the input of a guitar amp. Mic the amp with a 57.

Good suggestions, Track! I'm going to have to try that guitar amp thing soon.

I know it seems like my universal response to how to get an aggressive sound but think about it:what sounds agressive? Lots of moving air.
I have a pair of Peavey SP-2s out in my tracking room that I run stuff through at HIGH SPL that I want to wake up and I mic them up and re-record to a new pair of tracks and mix with the originals to taste.
