hmm... what mic would you put on the guitar amp to capture the new drum sound?

Either a SM-57 for for a rounder sound or a AT-4033. If the room that the amp is in doesn't sound too bad maybe both (a 57 tight on the amp and a pair of 4033's back in the room and use those rather than reverb on the drums).
