Hi guys,
I'm new to this site, and I need you guy's advice on a thing or two.
I'm looking to self-record a set of original songs, and I am a vocals/acoustic guitar/piano guy.. I cannot spend more than around $100 for a microphone..and that's where I have just become clueless, as there are a lot of choices.
I am looking for an airy vocal sound, and that's the main thing I want to achieve out of the microphone.
What I have been looking at are just a bunch of MXL's, pretty much:
990/991
770
V67G or V67i
R144 (ribbon mic, not sure if I need a good preamp to make this sound good)
550/551R
And I also have achieved some good results with a Studio Projects B1 condenser.
Also, I have the option to buy a set of AT 2020/2021's for $100.
So if anyone has any opinions for me, that would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you
