Has anyone had any vocal experience with this ribbon?
Generally, is it an appropriate addition, or is there a better ribbon out there for tenor (loud) voice?
Chain is able to add 60 clean db without any problem
Thanks for your attention

Are there better ribbons out there for vocals? Possibly, but if you're talking brand new, then you're probably talking about the AEA recreations of the RCA 44s, at more than 3 times the price of the R84. To me, the R84 is definitely the best ribbon for a home/project studio. It's miles ahead of the Beyer ribbons, much more versatile than the Royers (IMHO), and simply a class act all around. I'd give up my M149s before I gave up the R84.

Its a very nice mic!I've used it with a female vocalist with very nice results..My partner used it for a "jazz" vox with a male,he said it worked very well..I really like it on ele. guitars also.I haven't used it long enough to be able to give you any more info..But I do like this mic alot myself so far
