what do you mean by it's "behind" all other DAW's? not questioning your opinion just want clarity on this, being that as far as recording from home i've only tried
ACID PRO (hated dat shit wit a passion),
Cool Edit Pro (used to be my companion)
and now AA-2 (would marry dat shit if i could get some song placements)
my partner uses Magix Studio or somethin like that with a Neuman mic and i think a DBX channel strip and the finished product comes out crisp on CD for us to not be pro-engineers or rockin with any high-end equiptment.
Well, I said that because it just lacks features (the ones that will be shipped with 3.0) that most other DAWs have. Mainly MIDI and VSTi support.
I'm not sure if Cool Edit/Audition was ever meant to be a MIDI program to begin with, so if that's the case, then it's understandable.
As far as built-in plugins, I think even Audition 1.5 was way ahead of some others, especially their "scientific filters". It's really powerful software. It was just frustrating not having MIDI/VSTi support when that's all it needed to make it perfect.
I was kind of disappointed when 2.0 came out and had other stuff I didn't even want, and a few changes that just messed up my work flow, but didn't come with the 2 most important features.
