Not exactly what I said. Here, lemme try it a different way:
"The Hamburg is a rich, darker sounding mic in the vein of the MXL V67 and V69, or the Joe Meeks JM47, while the Vienna is closer to the Studio Projects T3 in terms of top end sheen."
Harvey, what have you been using the Hamburg and Vienna for? The Hamburg seems like it will work on alot of sources. I've read about some guys using a pair for overheads and they say that it sounds really nice.

Thanks for the restatement. You and I both know what you meant the first time, but why provide fodder for the typical distortions and misquotations that are ubiquitous in these parts?
i've only tried 2 ADK mics (both looked like u87's but black)... i can't remember what their model was but i found them both to be very hyped in the mid range. decent mics for what they sell for
The Vienna is the brighter / cleaner sounding mic between it and the Hamburg, the Hamburg has a bit more of an attenuated top end with a creamier midrange thing happening. The Vienna = airy / clean & present with very clear mids and tight bottom, the Hamburg = smooth midrange sound with a natural top and a little air and a tight bottom.
Vienna for cut and clean presence.
Hamburg for smooth, silkier sounds.
Mic selection is dependent on everything (singer, room, song) so it's best to try the mic out on your voice to really know.
I gave this shootout a go. My favorite was entry O (I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to give this test a shot). But it is clearly too expensive. Is anyone able to tell if there are any similarity with this (or other ~$200-300 mic) that might sound quite similar to it? On a side note, I found that I didn't like the sound of entry A that much.
If you need a new head screen I would contact them directly. You may be surprised at the level of service you could be provided even though you bought a used mic.
