Hi,
Thought it was time to put some input to the forum. I've got so much help here from you guys and it was time for me to do something.
Here's a sample of ADK A51 Mk3's as overheads. The room is quite small, 5x4x2.5 metres and have some acoustic dampings.
The mics are placed according to the "drumstick" method. Right mic is placed two sticks over the snare directed to the front of the skin. Left mic is placed over the drummers right shoulder, still at the same distant of two drumsticks and directed to the middle of the snare skin. At last the distances was adjusted to be equal between mic-snare and mic-kick.
It's recorded through a Presonus Digimax into a RME Hammerfall and Logic 5.5 (PC). The mp3 file (320) is made at home using M-audio Audiophile (don't know if that will affect the sound actually).
Here's the link:
(think I made some level adjustments on one channel during this check...think it can be heard)
