It's been a while since I visited this site. Things have changed. But I'm glad I can still post. I have several recordings on my computer in wav format that I want to put back onto the MR8 (using the compactflash card) so I can record additional tracks like bass, etc. I loaded the wav file onto the card but I can't view the file on the MR8. Can anyone tell me what I'm forgetting to do? Thanks!

Welcome back to the board!

First, you need to tell me kind of step by step how you loaded the file on the card.

I haven't had much success with drag and dropping the wave file on the card and then inserting it into the MR-8. I have always used the wave manager because it keeps "accidents" from happening.

That being said, make sure the file you are loading is a mono file. The MR-8 can't read a stereo file, and make sure that it's 44.1khz and 16-bit.

If you post your step-by-step proceedure, I can give you some help.

First I simply copied and pasted the wav file onto the card. The song did not appear on the card when I turned on the MR8. Then I created a file on the card with the song name. I again copied the song onto that file but it was not successful. I tried the file manager program but it did not work. Do you think that erasing the adl or bak files has something to do with the MR8 not recognizing it?

You have to name the files according to the track number that you want to put them on:

tr01
tr02
etc....

If you don't name them that way, the MR-8 won't recognize them.

Also, if you have usb, I'd use that and the wave manager. If not, make sure the files are 16 bit, 44.1khz mono and labelled as above and it should work.

One more thing, don't put them in a folder on the card.
