Now that I have songs written and am starting to record, I need some advice on standard "mastering" techniques. Maybe that's not what it's called, I'm not sure.

It was enough just trying to get everything to work properly. Now I need to figure out how to take what I have in my recordings and add the right finishing touches.

I know alot of people add reverb to make vocals deeper. Is there anything else I should know? Anything to make acoustic guitar deeper, or even electric. What about compression, I think some people use this?

Help:P

May I suggest doing a search here on "Reverb" and "Compression" also, check out the Mixing/Mastering forum as well.

Good Luck

It sounds like you have completed tracking and are now in the mix down phase of the recording process. This is the phase where you can add things like reverb, delays, chorus, compression, etc. However, the uses of these processors are dependent on the style of music and your personnel tastes.
