Adding 4 more inputs..

Ok...so right now i have the Omni Studio (http://www.music123.com/M-Audio-Omni-Studio-i72184.music)...Now im looking to add 4 more inputs..(to record my band live and such).

My question is..what should i buy and how do i set up a second card and interface...Like can i have 2 cards at once? or am i able to connect both interfaces to one card somehow...? And how do i route my signal from both interfaces to my mixer for monitoring?

I think all you need is one more delta 66, that you link to the pci card you have via s/pdif, so the two cards are sync'ed.

soundcards to mixer is pretty easy. soundcards out to mixer line ins. soundcards ins to the direct outs on your board. Or am I missing something?

well see...i dont use my mixer to track really ..cause im not fond of the behringer preamps..i mainly use it just for monitoring...i wanted to buy a Delta 44 or even a 1010..http://www.music123.com/M-Audio-DELTA-44-i23096.music

I then would run external preamps/compressors into that...hope that clears it up

m-audio cheaper deltas (44/66) only have "monitor mixer control" on OUTS 3/4. So, it's really a pain in the ass sometimes to get your setup working.

I had to get a behringer mixer to be able to hear what i want out of headphones/monitors (powered, and without like a reciever for sperate volume control) independantly or dependantly, and now i can choose easily with hte mixer. with no mixer involved, i woulda had to change my plugs everytime!! hahaha

oh yeah, and back to the point.

I would thinkt hat you can just put another Delta 44 in your free PCI slot. The delta control panel will know it's there, and now you got 4 more inputs! haha. I'd assume that they WOULD be synced damn near perfectly, since they are both in PCI slots, but I guess I could be wrong because of IRQ's and stuff like that..anyone know? i'd email MAUDIO and ask.

thanks for the replies...so..i want your guys opinions...should i just sell the mixer and use my Omni for monitoring??..Id probably get about twice what i paid for it...so...im just curious on your thoughts..
