I have a question for you:

Can you have two DA38's connected to the DM1000's completely in Digital via the TDIF cards? I thought you could, but I can't remember.
I'm thinking about buying one to use for mixdown, so that I can keep my signal path completely digital from my DA-38's to my DAT machine and CD burner.

You can connect 2 DA38's if you add the optional TDIF interface.

Comes standard with 1 TDIF connector. Guitar Center may have some left.

My apologies, I haven't been keeping up with this forum. Been busy as a bee in the "Studio Building" forum.

Anyhoo, the TDIF card will afford you 16 digital TDIF inputs at mixdown to stereo or the four busses. So what you are trying to do, will work just fine.
