So i have 2 adats that im using with a 32 channel 8 bus mixer. Can someone give me some ideas on the best way to hook these up to help avoid moving cords around. I can assign each channel to what ever bus i want .
Right now im just going 1-8 into the adat from the buses but i want to start using the other machine now. Should i just bounce everything to it and keep everything as is? That would seem the easiest thing to do or would it?
Any advice would be great...Thanks!

Also im using xlr to rca for my connections since i have not been able to find edac/elco snake at a reasonable price..plus my mixer is all xlr..no 1/4" at all except for send and return loops. Anyone got anything layin around that i could purchase? Let me know.

I think I replied to your same question on another forum. Just take the tape out of the first machine, put it in the second machine. Now put a fresh tape in the first machine and continue recording to it. No bouncing required.

Assuming I'm understanding the question...

Back in the "old days" most of us simply used Y cords on the busses so that buss 1-8 went to Adat A 1-8 in, as well as ADAT B 1-8 in.

Then, you didn't even have to move tapes.

I have a friend who used to have a pair of Otari 24 ch 2" decks, and a larger, 8 bus mackie (32x8 + sidecar), and the eight busses drive 1-8, 9-16, 17-24 of both decks, with lots of ugly Y cords.

Usually the input on decks have a much higher impedence than the output of mixing consoles, so you can parallel them without issue - usualy.
