Adat into Cakewalk?

I posted this question in the Cakewalk forum too, but maybe this one is more appropriate? What is the end result when you run the digital out of an Adat into a program like Cakewalk? I haven't used Cakewalk yet but I have it on my computer. Will 8 individual unmixed tracks of audio end up in Cakewalk?
I guess what I'm asking is can I transfer 8 prerecorded tracks straight across and then mix them on my computer?

You can if you have a sound card that supports the ADAT lightpipe like the MOTU 2408.

I use Adat Edit PCR card and software to easily transfer tracks back and forth in perfect synch. Rock ON!
